2024-25 Committee

President

Nick Ryan

nick

Hi! I’m Nick, a third year maths DPhil student at Balliol. I was a footballer turned swimmer turned rower and now finally a triathlete. I have been at the club two years now and have loved it! With the rest of the committee I’ll be helping to organise a fun year of triathlon - training, racing and, of course, socialising. If you have any questions at all please do come say hi at a session or send a message and I’ll do my best to help!

Secretary

Rosie Thorogood

Rosie competing at the European Duathlon Champs in Portugal

Heya, I’m Rosie! I’m a first year DPhil Student in Chemistry, but have been here the past four years completing my undergrad! I joined OUTriC last year, as another product of the classic rower—> triathlete conveyor belt, and absolutely loved getting stuck into training with such an awesome group of people. With a clean sweep of wins at Varsity duathlon and triathlon last year, I can’t wait to see what our club can do this season and I’m looking forward to helping with a smooth running of operations behind the scenes! Feel free to drop me any questions via email or come say hi at training!

Roman Doll

Roman running the Oxford Half

Hi, I am Roman, a third year DPhil student in Medical Sciences at Balliol college. I joined OUTriC at the end of my first year with very little background in endurance sports, but immediately fell in love with Triathlon and the club’s incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic community. If you have any questions, please do drop me a message or find me at any of the weekly sessions!

Men's Captain

Lucas Leung

Lucas on training camp in Tuscany

Hello I am Lucas, a third-year DPhil student in Theoretical Physics. When I am not training and going on 100k rides I spend all my spare time doing string theory - I mean - stuff that nobody understands. I am one of the captains this year and would be there to say hi and tell dad jokes during training sessions whilst we train hard to beat the tabs again this year! Feel free to contact Emilia and me if you have any questions regarding triathlon, especially if you are new to the sport!

I've been part of the club for four years, going from a complete newbie to a Blues Athlete and Varsity winner! Novice & Welfare Officer

Zoe Schwerkolt

Zoe competing at Varsity

Hi! I’m Zoe, and I’m the Novice and Welfare Officer this year. When I joined OUTriC two years ago I was pretty new to triathlon, having mostly come from a running background, and I fell in love with both the sport and the club! I also play Aussie rules football, and I’m a bit notorious for recruiting newbies into both of my sports. I’m excited to organise a bunch of novice-specific sessions to help get new people settled into this great sport, and can’t wait to encourage and support newcomers to triathlon! I’m always happy to answer questions, so come say hi to me at training or email me at:

Training Camp Officer

Bobby Clark

Bobby on training camp

Hi everyone, I’m Bobby and I’m the training camp officer this year.

I come from a swimming and running background and got involved with the club at the start of my third year having taken a few years out from sport. I enjoyed being a member of the club so much while at uni that even though I graduated in summer last year I’m staying involved as an alumni member!

This is my second year organising training camp. I was co-training camp officer last year when we went to Tuscany. Seb and I have some really exciting plans in the works for this year’s Easter training camp, so keep an eye out for details later on in Michaelmas term and we hope lots of you will sign up!

Luke Nijkamp

Luke at the finish of a trail race

Hey, I’m Luke, a third year engineering student at Teddy Hall. I loved my first year at the club, having joined in Michaelmas last year. I come from a running and swimming background and have found the club a super fun way to enjoy the Oxfordshire countryside and keep active, whilst meeting lots of really lovely people. I’m this year’s web officer so if you're getting in touch through our instagram or facebook pages you’re probably chatting to me:). Please do get in contact with any questions about joining the club or about our club activities in general.

Sponsorship and Alumni Officer

 Ben Fuller

Ben at varsity duathlon

Hi, I'm a third year biomedical science student at Corpus Christi. I joined OUTriC in fresher's week having done a few triathlons and had been training for around a year. I have found the club such a great community both for training and socialising and have made some great friends in the club. You'll find me at most sessions (but not as many swim sessions as I should!) so feel free to ask any questions you have there or by email!

Kit Officer

Tom Meritt-Webster

Tom on a ride

Hey everyone, I’m Tom, the kit rep for this year! I’ve been part of the club for a year and joining has definitely been one of my best life choices so far at Oxford - the club is full of fun, enthusiastic and encouraging people! When I’m not out and about doing tri-things, I can be found thinking about fluid mechanics for my PhD. Kit is arguably the fourth discipline in triathlon and I’m always open to new kit ideas, so if have any specific kit you would like the club to look into just message or email me:

Events officer

 Arundhati Wuppalapati

Arundhati with her bike

Hi! I’m Arundhati, a second year PhD student at new college. I am a big fan of summer rides with cake, chill long adventure plods and happy swims all year round. I'm super excited this year to be planning our aquathlon event open to the general public - it'll be great to do something with the wider community! Let me know if you'd like to be involved :)
